Taj Global Projects

Our friends in India

On our first India tour we got in contact with Kavitha and Brad from Taj Global and their beautiful exchange projects for children. Since then we kept contact with them and visited them a few times. Together we started a boy scout "Troop 1992" to support children from the slums and give them the opertunity for a better future.

Here you can find more info about the boy scout.

2015

Troop 1992 trip to Satara

In February 2015 the Boy Scout Troop from Ahmedabad, India went for a four days trip to Satara in Maharashtra state.
They traveled 18 hours by bus and were hosted by the Satara District Scouts and Guides Association. The program designed by Taj Global Understanding included training, cultural exchange with local scouts, and adventure activities such as hiking and repelling.
A trip like this represents a rare opportunity for these scouts, most of which have never been out of Ahmedabad. Traveling to Maharahstra was like visiting another country with different food and language. This is essentially a life changing experience for these kids as they get to see part of a much larger world.
The last donation of the Martin and Philipp Euler Kids Foundation for the Troop 1992 project was applied in full towards the overall operating cost of this trip. We hope to support more of these beautiful projects in future.

Trip to India in 2010

In July 2010 the Euler Kids Foundation flew to India and Ahmedabad.
We wanted to see the progress of the Foundation project in the slums of that city. In 2009 we had started an "Open Troop" boy scout programm with the help of our friends from Taj Global Understanding.
Mr Negi from TGU together with Abicheck Gupta and our driver Anil helped us a lot during these days.

Our first visit was an invitation from local Radio and Television studio 95.3 My FM. We talked about the boyscout programm and that we were excited to meet the boys and their instructor the following day.
We would like to thank Mr. Namjoshi and his staff at 94.3 My FM.

The next day Anil picked us up to go to the community center in the middle of the Slum area of Ahmedabad with the help of Mr. Negi and Abicheck.
We were greeted by the kids from the boys cout group and the instructors.

And than the boys from the boy scout group showed us a karate performance.
As you can see in the following picture, even Martin tried to take part.

We were again impressed by the work of TGU and the progress of their work. The Euler Kids Foundation says thank you for all the help we experienced and will continue to support the boy scout programm in Ahmedebad.
Our next upcoming events will be the Heroe's Run (Generali Run) in Hamburg - Blankenese on August 29. and a presence of the Euler Kids Foundation at the Martin's Market at Philipps school in Hamburg - Nienstedten on November 14.
All the proceeds will go to that "open troop" boy scout project in Ahmedabad.

Hope to see you there.

Trip to India in 2009

Since the trip to India in 2007 we have been in close contact with our friends Kavitha and Brad from Taj Global Understanding. They do so many exiting projects for children with exchange students from the USA and other countries.
Therefore the Euler Kids Foundation wanted to help with the good cause and a trip to Ahmedabad in August 2009 was organised. On the 2nd of August we fly to India to meet Brad and Kavitha. We flew to Ahmedabad via New Delhi with around 38 Celsius Temperature during the Daytime.
Brad and Kavitha had arranged a visit to a slum area of 300 000 inhabitants, where a lot of underprivileged children where living.

Through other projects and charities had they created a island of education and peace right in the middle of the slum.
In the middle of this 300 000 person area was a clean place with schools and kindergarten and even a computer center for the adults to gain access to modern technique and information.
This was place of peace - this was a place of opportunity. This community center is right in the middle of the slum, so nobody has to go outside to bring the kids to the school and not to go too far to get access to the new world of internet information.
We were impressed with the way things had turned out here.

Philipp and I were invited to join a class of school kids. Like always and everywhere in the world it took time to get to know each other.
But when Philipp started to make faces and got his father to join in, than we did not need to speak their language perfect.
What a difference in a child's life to have a school and a teacher with books.

We were impressed by these kids and their school day.
The Euler Kids Foundation will therefore participate in a 2 year project with these Kids to take part in a boy scout program in this slum to give them a better outlook on live with the guidance of our partner Taj Global Understanding.
